About the event
Engage deeply with others on the topic of Death through a distinctive and enriching experience at our Death Cafe on Friday, September 13th.
We will be offering a monthly Death Cafe around Central PA. Upcoming dates and times:
- October 25, 6:30-8:30pm
- November 16, 1-3pm
- December 14, 1-3pm
We’re adding an educational element with a special guest from Gentiva Hospice to provide valuable insights on end-of-life care.
Contrary to superstitions about the date, we believe every moment is the perfect opportunity to have open, meaningful conversations about life, death, and what it means to truly live. This free event is a safe space for sharing, learning, and connecting with others.
Registration is encouraged, and we promise—it's not as spooky as it sounds!
What is a Death Cafe?
A Death Cafe is a safe and welcoming space where people from all walks of life come together to openly discuss one of the most universal aspects of our existence: death. It's not a support group, therapy session, or a morbid gathering. Instead, it's a chance to engage in deep, philosophical, and sometimes lighthearted conversations about the profound questions surrounding death and dying.
**This is a FREE event and contributions are not necessary, however, if you would like to contribute, any money received will go towards refreshments for the evening.**
What to Expect:
- Thoughtful Conversations: Our facilitated discussion will encourage open dialogue about topics like end-of-life planning, cultural perspectives on death, grief, and the beauty of life itself.
- Diverse Perspectives: You'll have the opportunity to hear and share stories and viewpoints from fellow participants, fostering a deeper understanding of this shared human experience.
- Warm and Inclusive Atmosphere: Whether you're a seasoned thinker on these subjects or it's your first time delving into them, you'll find a supportive and non-judgmental environment here.
- Tea and Cake: Because all tough topics deserve some sweets
How to Participate:
Simply show up at the Timmons Team office in New Cumberland. Light refreshments (and cake) will be provided.
Registration:
Participation is free, and all you need to bring is an open mind and a willingness to explore these topics with others. Donations will be accepted to go towards refreshments.
Why Attend:
By participating in our Death Cafe, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for life, build connections, and become better prepared for the inevitable. It's an evening dedicated to celebrating the richness of life by exploring the mystery of death.
So mark your calendar for Friday, September 13th, and let's come together to discuss life and death in a way that's both enlightening and uplifting. We look forward to sharing this meaningful experience with you.
